Aram's Story...
Aram. Born July 2007. 4 1/2 yo Blue Marbled Bengal
regular adoption fee: see below

It's unusual to see a blue Bengal. It's a non standard color that shows
up sometimes in a litter of show quality kittens. His coat is very soft
and silky, not like a glitter Bengal, but there is a definite difference
between his coat and a domestic cat or any other breed of cat. There are
some in the breeding world that are trying to get the blue coat color
accepted for show, but so far, it's still not done. Aram will just have
to settle for being "pet quality."

In our opinion being pet quality is the way to go. Why would any cat
want to be dragged around to cat shows and sit in a cage all day while
people ogle them? Not Aram. He's an independent sort of guy. He goes and
does his cat business during the morning. We're not sure what he does
but he's very busy doing it. In the afternoon he gets very tired and
finds the need to rest on his favorite claw footed chair in front of the
fire for hours on end. When it's convenient for him he likes to hang out
on the back of the couch while his foster parents are watching TV in the
evening. Then in the night he often wants to sleep next to his foster
mom. But not near her head, on top of the covers by her stomach. Not
behind her, in front of her. And if she moves he gets huffy and growls
and stomps off. But in the middle of the night she will wake up and find
him right back in "his" perfect spot.

Recently Aram has taken to being a morning cat. That means he'll start
making biscuits on his mom's chest around 6 am. Aram's foster mom is not
a morning person. If Aram gets locked in the bedroom at night he will go
into the master bathroom and open cupboards so they bang. That is foster
dad's signal to get up and open the door so Aram can go check out the
main house and make sure there are no monsters sneaking in in the middle
of the night. As you can tell, Aram has a busy, full and very important
role in his household. He is highly intelligent and up for the job.
Aram doesn't love other cats. He tolerates them, and will touch noses
with those he has accepted but doesn't make new friends easily. In his
foster home he has a domestic shorthaired buddy named Jac (Just A Cat).
They have known each other for a long time. Sometimes Aram will let Jac
sleep with him and they will groom each other. If someone was wanting a
buddy for Aram, Jac can go to the same home with no adoption fee. We
call him Aram's "domestic partner".

When Aram was a kitten he had one severe eye infection. It came on
suddenly and for awhile it was thought that he would lose the eye. But
his foster mom did a great job of watching over him and giving him
medication many times each day, in spite of the fact that he was really
huffy about the whole thing. His eye was saved but there is a bit of
damage to the tear duct so he's got a very little bit of eye drainage
coming out of that eye. That eye is also a slightly different color and
has some scarring. You have to look close to notice, and Aram says it
doesn't bother him. After all, he's not looking at himself, you are.
Aram likes to hunt and explore and has been able to enjoy a safely
enclosed outdoor area. He would love to go to a home with a screen porch
or safely cat fenced back yard.

From time to time we do see other blue bengals in our local shelters,
often quite young. We don't always have space to take them, but if we
know people are looking for this type of cat, we would create a wait
list and help you find one. Please be sure to let us know of your
interest in this breed and/or this coat color.

About Our Rescue Group...
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of purebred and other exceptional cats.

Our mission is to educate pet owners, breeders, and shelters about our breeds, and to place our cats with Forever Families who will give them the proper care and love they deserve. We carefully match cats with their Forever Families by evaluating each cat's personality, temperament, and special needs. Then we determine the best fit for both the cat and the new family. Please note that we do NOT ship cats.

Our adoption fee is $175 unless otherwise noted. This fee allows us to provide excellent vet care for the cats that really need it. The healthy kitties make it possible for the sick ones to be saved.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Our cats are neutered or spayed, vaccinated and FELV/FIV negative. We are not a shelter. All of our cats are fostered in private homes. We ask that anyone wanting to meet one of our cats first fill out our online application. These cats are treated like members of our family, and we want to ensure that you will do the same.

When you adopt from Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue, you are saving TWO lives - the cat you adopt and the cat who gets to take its place in Rescue!

Our Adoption Process...
READY TO ADOPT?
First, call the name of the foster mother if you are interested in an individual cat. Once you've chatted, she will ask you to fill out our easy online application. Just "Click to submit"! Next, one of our wonderful volunteers will quickly contact your veterinary and personal references. Then they will give you a call to chat and answer any questions or concerns you may have about the adoption process. Once approved we will help you set up a time to come and meet the kitty or kitties you want. If it's a good match all around you will be asked to sign a contract and pay the adoption fee and you can take the kitty home that very day.

Our adoption fee is $175. That includes the kitty, spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, tested for FIV/FELV.

We do not ship pets, however, you are welcome to put in an application and once approved make plans to come out and meet the kitty and fly it back with you.
