My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thurber
2 year old male Bengal Abyssinian Cross
regular adoption fee: see below

This attractive young man is a hybrid of two of the owners favorite breeds--Bengal and Abyssinian. I guess that makes him a designer kitty. Maybe a Bengysinnian, or an Abysinnigal. Either way, he got his good looks and great personality from both parents. He is an all-around great cat, with a winning personality and a love for all species.
In fact, he has been the perfect family cat. He adores other cats, kids and dogs. He wants to be with his people, and has the typical very-helpful personality of his breeds.

The only problem is his favorite art form is escapism (he is an escape artist--get it?). In fact, he has become so adept at getting out the door that his current family fears
for his safety. He currently lives with young boys who are well-trained in the art of cat-baffling, but with such an active household he still manages to escape several times
a day. This is compounded by the fact that he has a degenerative eye issue, which is causing him to go blind (Progressive Retinal Atrophy, or PRA). It does not bother
him one bit--he still plays, gets around without any issues and uses the litterbox perfectly--but it makes running around outside especially dangerous. He is not difficult to
catch when he escapes, which has been fortunate, but he is so stealthy and quick he sometimes manages to get out unseen. He can even open slider doors if they aren't locked! After trying many things to keep him safely indoors, his family has decided that it is best for him to find a family who is better able to keep him contained. The perfect human companion is one who appreciates the extroverted tendencies of his breeds, and who can either keep him indoors effectively or is able to modify their outdoor space to
provide a safe exploration yard for him.

Thurber is fostered in Davis, CA
