DJ - in Maine's Story...
DJ is a handsome Beagle/Basset Hound mix who is 4 years old.

DJ is a shy boy who is being surrendered as he was not a good match for the small children in his home. Fast movements and loud noises startle DJ - as a result, we are looking for an adult-only home for this boy.

DJ is a wonderful, sensitive dog . He rides well in the car and seems to do well walking on leash.

DJ would benefit from a basic obedience class to help him build confidence and to bond with his new caretaker.

This is a very nice boy who will make a someone wonderful companion. Please give him a loving home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DJ - in Maine, a Freeport Beagle/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Basset Hound for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Beagle/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Basset Hound breeders who help with Beagle/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
