My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $250

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 8 years

Weight: 4.15 lbs.

8/19/12 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

7/5/12 - For those of you who were worried about me, I’m feeling much better now. My back isn’t hunched over and my neck is no longer hurting. Boy, what a little anti-inflammatory and some crate rest will do for a little one such as myself. Foster mom says that I am back to my old self playing with my toys and following her everywhere.

As you can see from my new pictures, I’ve also been able to grow a little hair since my original photos on the site where I was shaved down. I’m on my way to the cover of “Doggy GQ”.

6/27/12 - Little Milo was going down the steps from the bed one morning and yelped out in pain. He then started walking very guarded and with his head hanging low. We brought him to the vet and he was put on pain meds and an anti-inflammatory for a couple days (but still resumed his normal day activity at full speed). After those couple days, he still wasn’t feeling any better and seemed to really hurt and not want to eat, so back to the vet we went and he was admitted. He was given iv fluids, muscle relaxers, an anti-inflammatory and pain meds and kept confined for his 2 night stay. It was determined that Milo tweaked his neck. The treatment for this is strict crate rest for 2 weeks to let the inflammation go down, along with his anti-flammatory meds once a day. The vet said that since Milo responded so well to the medicine while admitted and did not get worse or acquire any other symptoms, he feels confident that he can make a full recovery if kept calm at home until his body is able to heal. Since Milo is so small, he will need to be careful and not be allowed to jump up or down off furniture which is what caused this in the first place.

3/12/12 - Ok. It’s usually the other way around, but the picture where I have beautiful hair is my “before” picture and the one(s) where I look like a Chihuahua are my “after” picture(s). The groomer got a little trimming happy and “shaved/almost bald” was the result. Don’t fear, hair grows back and I will be handsome again.
One thing is for sure, hair or no hair, I am a sweetheart. I'm co-existing fine with all the pups in my foster home. I absolutely love giving kisses whenever I can and love following foster mom and dad all over the house. I am just now getting a little comfortable in my new surroundings, and am a little more content to lay in one of the beds if someone walks out of the room without thinking I am being left.

My previous home had not had me long (they got me from a lady that was moving and could not keep me) before they realized that they truly did not have enough time for me. I needed someone home a little more to focus on my house breaking. In my foster home, I wear a belly band (diaper for males) to monitor when I am going and I'm getting better. I'm just a tiny little fella and my bladder is probably the size of a pea, so I have to pee more often.

I had a dental recently and had to have some teeth extracted due to lack of dental in my younger years. I had to lose a few of my top and bottom front incisors, so my tongue sticks out every so slightly in the cutest manner. This does not affect eating, I just won’t smile large on my family x-mas pictures.

I love sleeping in the bed with the humans and crawl under the covers right up against you. I do well with a bath and blow drying, although right now the blow drying part isn’t so much needed with this hairdo. I love to sit in your lap if you are watching tv or if you are on the computer. I just want to be with you. Staying on the same subject of “being with you”, I don’t mind at all being that pup that you carry around in a tote and I ride great in the car. Foster mom and I went to the pet store just the other day and I just sat in my carrier in the buggy looking around at all the other unfortunate dogs there that had to walk on their own.

I seem to prefer concrete over grass. I'd just rather tinkle and poop on the concrete, but foster mom and dad are teaching me that the grass won't jump up and swallow me whole, so I'm venturing out further and further each time. I'll be running around chasing the frogs in the grass in no time. I'm learning so many new things, it's like I was born yesterday. TOYS -- something I'm definitely not afraid of. I love me some squeaky toys, so if you are thinking of adding me to your family, make a quick trip to the pet store because I will need an army of toys upon my arrival.

Since I’m so small, I would not do well in a home with small children or large dogs, but I will do very well in a home that wants to make me the center of their life.
