Anyone would have to be forgiven if they mistook Alexa for a foot-stool or even a furry coffee table. This pretty faced lady lived with an owner who confused feeding with kindness and Alexa has subsequently become the widest Husky in history. Despite her girth, Alexa has impressed all the handlers at the shelter with her playfulness and energy. This big girl is not young but she loves to walk at a good clip on the trail and run in the fenced yard. She hasn’t shown much interest in toys but she just loves petting and brushing and leans in for pets – so make sure you have your balance. Alexa needs a family who wants to play and walk and brush and hang out with her – pretty much what being a dog owner is all about. And for now at least, show sensible restraint on treats and feeding, at least until she regains her girlish waistline
