My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting Marisol! An sweet and cuddly mixed breed, currently about 8 weeks old and weighing in at 9 pounds. Because of her young age, she will need a stay-at-home person to tend to her housebreaking, socialization and general obedience. She will be ready for puppy school very soon. We are told that mom is a border collie, and the "suspected" father is a boxer mix, but we don't know how reliable that information is, so since there is no guarantee of what size she will grow into, only those willing to take pot-luck need apply!

Though she's a mix, she still may have the traits of a border collie. The border collie is a herding dog known for its intelligence. These dogs are typically energetic, acrobatic, and athletic. They require considerable daily physical exercise and mental stimulation. They do not do well in homes where they are left alone all day long and can become destructive and mischievous through boredom. Because of their herding tendencies, they may be unsuitable for homes with small children or other small animals.

Come meet Marisol in person at her current foster home: Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, during store hours 7 days a week (phone 847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com). While you may want to take this little lady home with you, please keep in mind that you must go through the application process before that can happen.

Marisol's adoption fee of $350 includes: vet exam, flea preventative, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, deworming and spay.
