Liza's Story...
WELL, WELL, WELL! AREN'T WE SPECIAL! Have you seen our mom's pin-up on the Ahimsa site; her name is Bonnie, for Blue Eyed Bonnie--big hit song of the 1920's......we think...Blue eyes that will knock your argyle socks off! Well, genetics being what it is (we took a genetics course at OSU), two of the three of us have one blue eye. STRIKING!

So picture this: you are going for a walk with me, minding your own business when throngs of people gather around you and exclaim: What kind of gorgeous dog is that?? You will proudly say--Why, it is a Leopard Catahoula mix. Isn't she/he a beauty? And they reply: WHERE did you get this fabulous dog?

Then you give them your marketing script about the glories of Ahimsa Dog Rescue. We LOVE it here. What is not to love--fresh air, lots of pals who love to play and 'pal around,' gourmet cuisine, loving hands, a safe haven from all things scary, hurtful, and frightening.

You better hurry, for we are a rare breed to be found here at Ahimsa.....anywhere, for that matter. We are a Leopard Catahoula mix, one of the oldest breeds in this here ol' USA. Originally bred in Louisiana, our name supposedly is a combo of two Native American names. We are considered hound dogs and have the name 'Leopard' for the beautiful leopard spots on our coat.

The beauteous (is that a word?) white faced doll is me: Liza. My bro's are named Chester and Baxter. We have so many great traits, there is no room. But to start: love to play with kids. Our foster mom says we are sooooooo smart and attentive. We love toys, toys, toys.....bring some when you adopt, eh? Oh! And balls. Love to retrieve. You'd think we are a Catahoula Retriever! Ha, little Catahoula joke. Maybe not funny in human terms but a big hit here at Ahimsa on Stand Up Comic Night. We have won first place 3 weeks in a row!

We are about 3 months old, ready to put our retriever skills to good use (Paper? Shoes? Dropped napkin? Lost sock? ). So while we romp and refine our standup comedy routine, please look at these faces! Look at those faces!!!! Seriously. How CAN you pass us by?

With our best regards: Liza, Chester, Baxter

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liza, a Muldrow Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog for sale in Muldrow, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy from a breeder in Muldrow.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muldrow already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muldrow breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muldrow paves the way for another one to be saved.
