Sammy is a beauty of a cat. He has a perfect apple shape face. His tabby markings are pronounced and gorgeous. One really doesn’t even notice his crumpled ear. He is a sweetheart and likes getting gentle petting. Sammy not a lap cat but he loves the company of humans that trusts. He’s a little shy at first but with a little love and a little patience he will be fine.
Sammy had to be awfully confused and afraid when the person he so loved dumped him. How long he struggled on the streets we do not know. His life was very hard and he grew weary of humans who shunned him, as well as cats who fought him and dogs who chased him. As a Tom cat he naturally got into fights and he seems to have gotten the worst end of it by the looks of his right ear. By the time a Good Samaritan found him he was extremely thin and his ear had atrophied as a result of a hematoma cause by most likely a bite. He trusted no one.
Today he is a healthy boy again. He is fit and trim. He is very food motivated. He has learned to get along with our cats. Being that he is the underdog he gets chased around and batted at now and again, but since his roomies are all girls he doesn't have too much of a problem with that.
He’s learned to accept our dogs though he’s not yet a snuggle buddy with them. A bit too much to ask, I’m sure.
Sammy will be adopted as an inside cat only. We recommend that as a companion cat he be adopted to an opposite sex cat. Calm dogs that are respectful of cats are fine. A calm loving home with calm humans and calm children 6 to 8 yrs old or older is our wish for him. References and vet checks as well as a home visit required. His adoption fee is $100 which will be used to help other abused and neglected cats like Sammy.
