Jake's Story...
This beautiful tabby male was abandoned about six months ago. The lady who rescued him fell in love with him instantly, he was affectionate did not scratch the furniture and had impeccable litter box habits. Unfortunately her other cats immediately took a strong dislike to this sweet male cat. The lady took him to her vet at her own expense, had him neutered and all immunizations including rabies. The last time her cats attacked this gentle cat, they demonstrated that he was a lover not a fighter and ripped out several sections of hair and his ear. She knew that her cats would never accept Jake, so, with tears, she brought him to us to be placed in a home with no other cats. He does not like his cage but loves being petted. He would be a purrrfect companion for anyone without other pets.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Shelton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Shelton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Shelton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelton paves the way for another one to be saved.
