Gracie Mamacita's Story...
Hi Everyone,
I am Gracie ( but I am also called Mamacita) and boy do I have a story to tell you. But first, lets get the stats about me out of the way. I am an all white female Pit Bull Terrier, maybe mixed with Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The vet thinks that I am about 3 years old. I am staying with a foster family that has two resident dogs, but I am not 100% okay with them. I am thinking that I would be happier being an only dog in the home. I haven't been around any cats yet so I don't know if I will get along with them or not. If you are thinking of adopting me and have cats, then the people at the shelter could put me thru a cat test to see how I do. I don't mind taking the test, at least I don't have to study for it :) I did meet the neighbors child and I was just fine with her. With time, the people at the shelter and the people fostering me will learn more about me, but for now, this is all I can tell you.
Now, let me tell you about what happened to me. It was a strange twist of fate that I ended up in the situation that I am in right now, thats for sure. You see, I was found waddling along the side of a highway at 1:00 in the morning. I have no idea how I got there but it appeared to my rescuers that I had been hit by a car. I was so scared and in so much pain. I had 2 broken legs and many bumps and bruises. I ended up having surgery to repair one of my front legs and one back leg. (Take a look at my pictures and you can see me in my cute pink casts, and you can also see just how beautiful I am). I am currently recovering in the home of the wonderful people who saved my life that night. They told me that they will foster me until the right family comes along to adopt me.
But My destiny is still to be determined. So I was wondering... Is there a reason why you are reading this bio about me right now? Am I meant to be a part of YOUR family? Who is going to give me, a "gorgeous dog" a new life and another chance at being the loving pet I was meant to be? I really don't need a lot, just a person to love me and a lap to lay my head on. SOooooooo if you have room in your heart and home for such a wonderful young lady like me, contact the people at the shelter. Since I am currently in a foster home we will have to make an appointment for us to meet, but I SO..... would love to have my "OWN FOREVER HOME."
I have been spayed and I'm up-to-date with my routine shots. Oh and I do have a microchip put in me so that if we do get lost from each other you will be able to find me :)
You can see some other adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from 12 to 6pm and some Sundays too. BUT please find me first? OK? Hopefully I will get to go to Petsmart soon. You could email or call Robin to see if she will be taking me along on the weekend.
All adoption fees include spaying, chip and up-to-date vaccinations.
I HOPE to meet you really soon. Mama!!!

P.S. As of March 8th, Mama's vet bills are around $1000.00 with still more vet visits ahead, including her spay. So far we have collected a little over $700.00 towards this expense, mostly from our Facebook friends, and friends and family of the rescuers. If you would like to contribute, you can do so on our website at www.anim alfriendswestmoreland.org. Reference "Mamacita" and your donation will go directly towards her care. Thanks!!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie Mamacita, a Youngwood American Pit Bull Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
