Sigmund's Story...
Sigmund (01-215) is a stunning tri-colored male, 3 years old. He was rescued off the streets and is adjusting well to his foster home. Sigmund is finished with his heartworm treatment. He has gained some weight and is looking quite handsome. His health is much better and he no longer coughs, though a lingering low-platelet count will mean that he will most likely be on a very low dose of Prednisone for quite some time. He is a very affectionate dog and is working on his house-training. When he is especially happy, he wags his tail in a full circle. He continues to charm everyone he meets with his fun-loving personality and zest for life. Sigmund turns heads everywhere he goes. He's also available for virtual adoption through our Georgia Peach Program.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sigmund, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
