Diana is an approximately 8 year old female Dobe. Shes a beautiful black/rust girl and is docked and cropped. One of her ears does not stand, but that doesnt detract from her good looks at all. Shes a very nice-looking Doberman. Diana came in to DAR&E in rough shape. Shed been chained up but managed to get loose and animal control picked her up. She was very thin, had hair loss particularly on her front legs and her ears were badly infected. Shes obviously had at least one litter of pups. Once in foster care Miss Diana was fattened up and the hair on her legs returned. It was discovered she needed daily (inexpensive) thyroid meds. Now Diana has a beautiful coat and the infection in her ears has cleared up. What makes Diana a special needs Dobe is that it has also been established that she has bad allergies to several things. Her allergy symptoms are confined to her ears, poor Dianas ear itch like crazy! Tests have been done and shes on allergy shots and quality grain-free food to try and calm her bodys reaction down. Weve gotten her more comfortable on steroids (which shes currently being weaned from) and some topical ointment put in her ears once a day. Diana is looking for a very special home. She needs someone who is willing to commit to managing her symptoms and keep her as comfortable as possible while working on establishing a good protocol to minimize her allergic symptoms. Diana is one of the sweetest Dobes youll ever meet. Shell happily roll over on her belly with her tail going a mile a minute, just looking for that belly rub. She loves to play with other dogs, but will do best with a submissive playmate. Shes a great watchdog and will alert you to company, but loves everyone she meets. Shell do best without cats, but gets along well with little dogs loves to play with them. Diana needs a very special home, but she is a very special dog and whomever adopts her will be very lucky.
