Reese's Story...
Reese is an 8 month old female Chocolate Lab mix weighing about 35 pounds. Someone placed her in our fenced runyard during our off-hours, so we don’t know any history about her. Reese enjoys playing with our other Shelter dogs and is fine with people too. She needs a home that can give her an outlet for her high energy level, however she is at an excellent young age to learn some basic obedience. We can't say for sure if she is housetrained or not, as she is in a 5' x 10' kennel pen at our Shelter and she will have messes in there sometime. Her new home should plan to do some housetraining. The adoption fee for Reese is $75. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes. This form is a simple one-sided Microsoft Word document and it can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you would like to receive the form via e-mail, or if you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail message.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reese, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
