Josie was dropped off at high kill animal shelter in KY, due to her advanced age she was not considered a good candidate for adoption. The shelter staff tested her for Heartworms and the results was that she is positive but it is just a mild infection. But with her age and positive heart worm status the shelters only recourse was to euthanize her if a rescue did not step in to save her! , Josie must have an guardian angel on her side a call was made and a rescue came to her aid. Josie is now in the care of Second Chance and Happy Tails Rescue. Josie is very friendly and loves other dogs But we are unsure how she feels about cats. Josie will start he slow-kill-treatments for the heart worms right away and in 6-8 months she can be heart worm free
