My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Val- I was rescued along with Rose on Valentines Day from a high kill animal control facility. We didn’t hunt so our former owner dumped us, as he had no use for us. Guess he didn’t know or care that we make great pets! I am timid but there isn’t a mean bone in my body- just cautious and shy. So I need a home with someone who understand and will go slowly with me. Show me love and be patient while I slowly blossom and you gain my love and trust. I love other dogs, especially my sister Val. I also love playing with toys. I didn’t know what they were when my foster Mom gave us some, but now I love the squeaky ball and the tug toys. I can entertain myself with them for hours.
My foster Mom said I am now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed and tested negative for heartworms. I was very skinny when I first came here but now have gained weight- I weigh 40lbs and could still gain some more. I am only about 2 years old. I exercise a lot, running after squirrels and playing with toys. I crate well and ride in the car well. I am hoping for a great Fur-ever home, with another dog (would love it to be Rose) to play with and help me build my confidence. Could you be the special loving person/family I am dreaming of?
