JR's Story...
JR is a 5 year old male smooth coat JRT with a tail, he is being given up due to a human baby and now not enough time to give this little guy. He has skin allergies so he really enjoys being inside unless you are throwing a ball or frisbee for him to chase or he has to potty. He is house-trained, but his quirks with that are that he won't always whine at the door. Sometimes he will stop midwalk, put his tail down and ears back and look pitiful when he needs to go potty. He's very good at running to the door if we go to the door and ask "potty?" or if we open it and tell him to go potty. If he's having fun, though, he will sometimes wait until its too late and he can't hold it or stop it. That hasn't happened in the past 2 years, though. Oh, and he can close the door behind him when he comes in if he's prompted to. He has grown up sleeping with in the bed. He does like to sleep under the covers next to a warm body, too. He can be high energy, but he can be a cuddle bug, too. Oh, and he loves to give kisses, which is why his name is Smooch. He's very good at basic commands but a challenge to walk on leash. He is now on both Hydroxozine and Prednisolone twice a day for his skin allergies. Contact okcjrt@aol.com for adoption information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JR, a Harrah Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Harrah, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Harrah.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrah already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrah breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrah paves the way for another one to be saved.
