Teegue is a BIG brindle boy who loves to have conversations with his people and sing along to songs. He is an older guy, 8 or so, but he is crate trained and house trained and laid back in the house. He is heartworm negative and has some bumps, like older Boxers often have, that might need a look.
He gets energized when outside and likes to zoom around the yard at top speed. He knows Sit, Down, Stay and Kennel and does well on a leash and enjoys walks. He gets along very well with the female Boxer he lives with but gets anxious when approached by dogs he does not know. He ignores the resident cat. He has done well with the children he’s met although he does not live with any right now. With his size and energy he may be best with older children. He LOVES belly rubs and will gladly lay down for them. He is a very happy boy and his tail wags so fast it becomes a blur.
Teegue is partial to women and while he is very social, he still occasionally jumps up on men when first meeting them. He does an excellent job of guarding the yard and keeps deer out of his foster parent’s garden. He is accustomed to chickens and stays calm around them on leash or when separated by a fence. Teegue is very easy to bathe and even enjoys having his nails trimmed.
Teegue is a happy, mostly easy going guy that needs a leader that understands when and why he gets anxious. He just needs calm, firm reassurance that all is well. He would do well in a home as an only dog or with a laid back female dog.
Thank you Mary Minchew for virtually fostering Teegue!
