Brick's Story...
Brick is a sweet, snugly and friendly, ten-month-old, golden-eyed, grey and white male kitten with three legs for a loving guardian. Brick had a rough start to his young life. He came to Chicago Animal Care & Control with his front left leg broken in four places. Brick’s leg was so badly damaged and infected, it had to be amputated. Brick is recovering in a fantastic foster home where he gets along with everyone he meets – other cats, dogs and people of all ages including children. He greets you with a head butt, and a kiss. He loves to be carried around, is very playful and will sit on your lap for hours. Brick is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and virus-tested. To meet and possibly adopt him, please call, e-mail or text his foster mom Katye at singsingkitty@yahoo.com or 815-603-1157. His adoption fee of $75 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control. If you would like to donate towards Brick’s veterinary care and to help others like him, please make a donation at http://fcacc.org/fcacc_home/donate/donate-now?view=donation and please specify the “foster program”.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brick, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
