My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Macy is a sweet, lovable Great Pyrenees. She is five-and-a-half years old and she is 103 pounds. Macy came into Northstar Great Pyrenees Rescue due to changes in her family’s lifestyle. She is completely housebroken. She has not had a single accident since coming to our home. We let them all out pretty regularly so we are not sure if she will let you know when she has to go but so far it hasn’t been an issue. She is also crate trained. We keep her in a large crate during the day when we are at work and she gets the run of the house when we are home and during the night. She is very polite in the house and hasn’t tried to chew on anything at all. However she is very unsure of linoleum floors. She walks very carefully on it and will make it to a rug and hang out there, otherwise she stays on the carpet. She will not go onto the couch or the bed though she has been invited up so she must have been trained to stay off of furniture. Her previous owner also said that she is able to open doors that have a latch type handle, not the round door knobs.

Macy has fit in very well in our home, with our two Great Pyrenees and our rabbit. At first she seemed a bit food aggressive and a little bit territorial in the house but after a couple of small verbal confrontations with our female Great Pyrenees who can be quite dominant, Macy learned her place in the pack and they all get along very good now. She loves to run and play in the back yard with our two Pyrs and her previous owner also said she loves the dog park. She has also been very good with our rabbit. She will usually go up and check on her a couple of times a day by sniffing near her cage and then she goes about her day.

Macy very much loves the outdoors and will take every chance she can for a good long walk or a hike in the woods. She will defiantly need a home that will be able to give her the exercise she needs. She walks really good on a leash, and she loves to walk fast or go running but she is also very willing to slow down for you and does not tug on her leash.. Macy is a very sweet girl and she deserves to have a place to call home with a family who is devoted to her.

An adoption application, secure visible fenced yard, site visit, and adoption fee are required to adopt Macy.
