Curly's Info...
| Breed: | Domestic Shorthair | Color: | Black & White Or Tuxedo | Age: | Young |
| Sex: | Male | ID#: | 3157802-Foster Home | Hair: | Short |
I am already neutered, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and good with kids.
My name is Curly. I am a little over one year old and I weigh 11.5 lbs. I am a 4-paw polydactyl boy and very handsome. Polydactyl means that I have extra toes on my feet (you can see them in one of my pictures). COOL!
I was found outside in the dead of winter. I was so cold!
I'm a very social guy. I love being around people, talking to them, and playing with toys. Check out my YouTube video to see how much I love petting and toys. I'm also a little clumsy, which is probably because of the extra toes!
Now more about my special needs... I tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which means my immune system is weaker than most. I am 'asymptomatic' -- not showing signs of the illness. Many FIV+ cats can live long normal lives. Being kept indoors in a low stress environment, and giving me a nutritious diet will help to keep me healthy.
FIV only affects felines - it cannot be spread to people, dogs or other animals besides cats. It is spread between cats via deep, vicious bite wounds - the kind commonly inflicted between free-roaming male tomcats fighting for territory, not through casual contact such as grooming or sharing food/water bowls.
FIV+ cats can safely live with FIV-negative ones, provided the chemistry is right between the cats. They can even play-wrestle with each other!
Please consider adopting me. I would love a forever home.

People and Animals in Community Together Humane Society (PACT) is a no-kill, not-for-profit, and all volunteer animal shelter and educational organization. We were established in April of 2000 in Downers Grove, Illinois.
PACT Humane Society is staffed by volunteers who serve in many different capacities including daily animal care providers (cleaning and socialization), adoption counselors, management team members, program coordinators, and advisers.
To date we have adopted out over 4,750 cats and dogs in our 12 year history.
We are no-kill, only euthanizing animals in advanced stages of cancer or liver disease, or an untreatable illness, where there is no quality of life or hope of recovery.
We have rescued thousands of animals from animal control facilities where they would have been euthanized within a matter of days.
We rescue older animals and "less-than-perfect" ones, such as dogs with heartworm, and cats with FIV or diabetes, cats missing tails, eyes or legs.
PACT's Bloomingdale Adoption Center is located inside Petco at 412 W. Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale, Illinois. While we have a wonderful Adoption Center that houses up to 13 dogs and 26 cats. We have some animals live in foster homes until space or adoption opportunities become available.

Monday - Friday: 10am - 12pm & 4pm - 8pm
Saturday & Sunday: 11am - 5pm
