Freedom's Story...
Freedom is a very new intake at our rescue facility, so he isn't well-known yet. Initial impressions are that he may not be good with other dogs. He is VERY STRONG on leash and strains to rush up to other dogs, with his intentions unknown, though it appears that he would be inclined to fence-fight with dogs on the other side of his fence. Freedom actually ate a hole in his kennel fencing at the animal shelter where he had been impounded. We think he may have been a ranch dog accustomed to a lot of freedom, though this is rarely possible in urban environments, so a block wall would be more secure in his "forever home." When being transported, he was quite content to rest in a cage and a crate, and he was very affectionate to those who transported him, giving kisses and taking treats gently.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Freedom, a Fillmore Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Fillmore, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Fillmore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fillmore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fillmore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fillmore paves the way for another one to be saved.
