PRECIOUS's Story...
SRC does not adopt out its dogs to families with children under ten years of age. This is for the protection of the dogs and for the protection of the children.

Once you are approved to adopt you must make your donation online via our website and sign an adoption contract BEFORE you pick up your new dog. SRC does NOT do meet and greets on the same day as adoptions so if you want to meet the dog first, you must make two trips to the foster home. Keep in mind that if, while you are waiting to meet a dog, another approved applicant decides to commit to it, the dog is no longer available for adoption.

PRECIOUS (SRC #1174) is an eight month old parti-colored Pomeranian female who is TINY! This little girl weighs just four pounds and she is not expected to get over 6lbs full grown, if even that. Precious is a sweetheart of a girl who found herself at an animal shelter when her owners said they werent prepared to take care of a puppy when they bought her.

Precious is a typical Pom in that she wants to be carried around and she wants to cuddle with you. Everyone that meets her absolutely falls in love with her.

Precious is working on her house training as she is a young puppy and was not trained by her former owners. She is doing very well with it but she must be kept on a consistent schedule. Precious will only be placed in a home where she will not be left over three hours at a time without a potty break. This tiny girl just cannot hold it much longer than that and she shouldnt be expected to.

Precious likes to sleep in the bed with you at night, but she will sleep in a crate if she has to. She is also good with other dogs, and has shown no fear or any aggression towards anyone or anything.

Stay tuned for new photos as Precious gets more acclimated to her foster home. The current pictures were taken in the shelter and are being posted to show how cute she is.

Precious is spayed, up to date on her shots, microchipped, heartworm negative, and she has been dewormed. She is also on monthly heartworm and flea preventative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PRECIOUS, a Lenoir Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Lenoir, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Lenoir.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lenoir already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lenoir breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lenoir paves the way for another one to be saved.
