SAM's Story...
SAM (SRC # 1111) is a 5 year old Miniature Schnauzer male that weighs approximately 25lbs. Sam came to SRC from a wonderful family that just needed some help, so they reached out to SRC for help with his placement. Sam is black in color, with a docked tail and natural ears.

Sam is a wonderful little boy, who is house trained, crate trained, and he loves to be the center of attention. Sam is a special needs boy because he has diabetes which has caused him to be blind and needs to be given a shot twice a day. He is a candidate for eye surgery and SRC will help any adoptive parent with fund raising should they want to pursue restoration of his eye signt and using one of our SRC vets. Don't worry, he takes his shots like a champ, and his former family took very good care of him so his diabetes was caught early. Sam's shots and insulin cost approximately $25/ month. It has not diminished his health in any way other than his eyesight, and he is just like a typical dog. The only difference is that he needs shots, and he should be fed three small meals a day to insure his blood suger doesnt drop. Sam cannot have people food and he must live a lifestyle where he doesnt become overweight.

Sam is used to living with big and little dogs alike, so he is great with all sizes, and he is used to living a laid back lifestyle where he is spoiled rotten. He is great with all people he meets, and he will make a great addition to any family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SAM, a Lenoir Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Lenoir, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Lenoir.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lenoir already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lenoir breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lenoir paves the way for another one to be saved.
