Bunny's Story...
Bunny was rescued from Animal Care Services after being picked up as a stray. She was covered with fleas but is recovering well. With proper grooming and monthly flea prevention and a bath every now and then she will shine. This sweet girl was so happy to be sprung from the shelter she just ran circles around us as we were walking to the car. She went potty right away outside when we walked out and happily hopped in the car for the ride to her new life. She loves to play and romp with other dogs and enjoys the fresh air and playtime. When we come back inside she crashes at your feet and is cozy as can be. Bunny is spayed, house trained, fully vetted, and will even use a doggy door. When she wants your attention she will throw her head back and howl at the moon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bunny, a San Antonio Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
