SAMMY's Story...
Sammy was rescued from inside an apartment in Alameda, abandoned by his "caretakers" when they moved on. He is a cute, gentle, and sweet guy with huge blue-green eyes. His favorite napping spot is a cardboard box with sunshine streaming in through a window. Sammy loves to curl up on the bed with you and loves to have some time for petting. He is also happy to be a lap cat and to be near you while you are working on the computer. Sammy likes to play fetch with his mousie, just like a dog! He needs to be a solo cat as others stress him out. He would love a quiet and loving home to call his own. Sammy would be ideal for an all adult household or a senior citizen. He might tolerate a quiet, cat-friendly, small dog. We estimate he was born in August of 2005. Bio# 3212 KD

About Our Rescue Group...
ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.

Our Adoption Process...
Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

- Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
- Cats (over 8 years): $75
- Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat
For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150
Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:
- Spayed or neutered
- FeLV and FIV tested
- FVRCP vaccinated
- De-wormed, and
- Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
