Norma Jean's Info...
| Breed: | Dogo Argentino/Boxer Mix | Color: | White | Age: | Young |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Norma Jean was pulled from Fulton County Animal Services in February 2012 after her owner didn’t reclaim her. We were able to locate them, but they never responded to our notices or neighbors that told them she was at FCAS. Norma Jean was kept on a thick, heavy towing chain for the first 2 years of life which permanently damaged her trachea, so her leash can only be attached to her harness and her collar can only be used for tags. There was a female black lab mix also in the yard that wasn’t chained that would constantly attack her. Neighbors could hear her crying all throughout the night. Unfortunately, she was heartworm positive but she underwent the painful treatment and has fully recovered. She is now kept on monthly heartworm preventative.
She has done great with a female pit bull and our male Bloodhound mix, but there have been several other dogs she didn’t care for and she’s not good with cats. She would do best as an only pet or with a submissive dog. She loves every person she meets and is super friendly. She is house and crate trained.
She has also been fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, completed heartworm treatment, and she recently had a full dental). Her adoption fee is $80. We believe she is about 2.5 years old. Her favorite past time is playing with toys! You have never seen a dog that loves toys as much as Norma Jean! She is ready to settle down and be a perfect companion for a lucky adopter :)
We had her DNA tested and she is a Dogo/Boxer/Boston Terrier mix.
If you are looking for a chill, already trained, super sweet, loving, devoted companion, Norma Jean is the dog for you! :) If you're interested in adopting her, please email AnimalRescueAssistance@gmail.com

You must fill out an application before being able to meet any of our adoptable pets. The next step is meeting the dogs and if one is a match for you, we will bring them over for a home visit. You must have a crate, food, toys, harness, and leash at time of home visit. Depending on the dog, we sometimes will consider out of state adoptions for an approved application if we can find a licensed shelter in the area of the applicant to do a home inspection.
ABR takes in strays from South and East Atlanta, specializing in pit bulls and other bully breeds. They have them fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped and then they find them loving, forever homes. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application.
ABR keeps dogs until they are adopted by approved homes. On average it takes at least 6 months to find the adults homes. Donations for their care is greatly appreciated and enables us to rescue more dogs.
