My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birthdate: 11/22/11

Gender: Male, neutered

Breed: Sharpei/Boxer mix

One of the first things everyone notices about Thor are his “fingers.” With his big paws and his habit of standing at attention as he keeps an eye on everything around him, his paws look almost human-like and certainly draw your eye. But there’s so much more to love about this little guy.

Thor loves absolutely everyone. He especially loves greeting people now that it’s warm out because he has an obsession with licking toes. If you’re wearing flip flops, you will be his new best friend. He’s simply fascinated.

Don’t miss his video!

As we were shooting his video, someone passing by was nice enough to donate a bunch of balls to Thor, and he couldn’t have been happier. It made his day. He was so distracted by them that we had a hard time keeping his attention. And he was a big hit when he got back to the shelter to share his prize with the other dogs.

We believe Thor is a Sharpei/Boxer mix. We’re expecting him to reach about 60 pounds as an adult. He has a very short, compact build, so he looks a lot smaller than he actually is. But try to lift this little guy and you’ll quickly realize that appearances are deceiving.

Thor knows how to Sit and is pretty good at Stay. Treats definitely help. He’s very treat motivated. He also walks great on a leash and even participated in the St Patrick’s Day parade recently to greet his adoring public. He is not yet housebroken, but we’re expecting him to pick this up without a problem once he finds his forever home. He’s a smart little guy.

Thor lives at the shelter, so you can meet him any time during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm, or give us a call at 330–397–8270 to schedule an appt at another time. He has already been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so he’s ready to join your family. He’s great with other dogs, cats and kids.
