My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof - my name is Blake. I am a 4 year old Neutered Male, SUPER ADORABLE, SUPER SWEET black Bassett and Cattle dog mix. I am a low-rider like a lab, and I have the cutest spotted fit and the sweetest face. I am GREAT with EVERYONE!! I love other dogs, big and small, I am fabulous with cats and I love kids and adults. I am a calm, sweet boy. I walk well on a leash and take treats gently from your hand. I was rescued from the North Central shelter where I was brought in after being hit by a car. I needed surgery on my Left Hind-leg which I have already had and I am healing well and I get around just fine. I do have a bit of nerve damage so I am undergoing some acupuncture and water treatments to help me rehab. I am neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all of my shots. I am being fostered in a home in Thousand Oaks where I live with 3 other dogs. I also was in a home living great with cats immediately post my surgery. I am healed from my surgery and I love to go for walks and also jogs! I LOVE to play ball! I am FABULOUS with children and often hang out with a 2 yr old grandson at my foster mom's house. My nerve damage though causes me to be incontinent at times, so I sleep in a crate and love to hang out outside during the day. I make up for it by giving you TONS OF LOVE! The doctors believe my prognosis is good - they believe when I was hit by the car, my tail was caught under the tire of the car and the nerves were severed - and they are slowly regenerating, but nerves grow much slower than muscle or bone.
