Janis's Story...
As Heart of America Humane Society has several adoption locations now, please contact Sherry DIRECTLY puppyluv_hahs@yahoo.com in order to find out how you can meet Janis!

Janis is an Australian Shepherd mix born at the end of January. This girl has personality plus!! Happy, bright eyed, mischievous…all describe this beautiful fluff ball. She absolutely loves people and other dogs. She is very smart and very energetic, typical Aussie. Janis would be that one in a million special dog for someone…but it has to be someone who knows what they are getting with an Aussie. If you are looking for your first puppy than a training class would be a must. If you are an experienced dog owner but never had a dog from the herding group, than a training class is still a good idea. Janis will probably be 50-55 pounds when fully grown, with a thick fluffy coat that will need groomed frequently. Janis is truly an amazing little girl and deserves someone that will love her and spoil her….are you that person?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Janis, a Overland Park Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
