Farley's Story...
Farley is a handsome 1-year-old Labradoodle. This very sweet dog loves life, he has a big heart and a decent amount of energy. He would do best in a home that will get him romps in the yard, play at the dog park, or maybe a runner. He could help exercise another fur child:) He is housetrained, likes to ride in the car, does well on a leash and knows a few basic commands. He still needs to work on harder commands like stay and things that take more focus. He is fine around cats, other dogs (as long as they want to play because he will ask often), and loves people. He was in a home with kids, but he is still a little bouncy so slightly older kids might be better.

*****His adoption fee is $350.*****

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues—and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Farley, a Kalamazoo Labradoodle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labradoodle for sale in Kalamazoo, or seeking a Labradoodle dog from a breeder in Kalamazoo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kalamazoo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kalamazoo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labradoodle breeders who help with Labradoodle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kalamazoo paves the way for another one to be saved.
