My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Elvis
Breed: Boston Terrier
Gender: Male
Age: 6
Personality: Approx. 6 years (shelter estimated 7, Doc says 5 or 6). Health: Clean bill of health. He is neutered and up to date on all shots. Training: Housebroken, crate trained, knows some basic commands (Sit, Lay) Answers to his name and he is not a runner / darter. Good on a leash. Personality: He aint no hound dog. He is a happy Boston Terrier! When this 20 pound jitterbug is not dancing around he is by your side. He likes the outside and the indoors. Elvis is more mellow than hyper but he is playful. Elvis did not come to us with any training but he is quickly learning the basics. He already knows how to sit and will even jump into the bathtub for his relaxing spa time, a treatment every King deserves, no doubt. He is a sensitive guy, a stern voice is enough to make him nervous. Look into his beautiful eyes, blue or brown, you choose, and see the soul of a dog that wants nothing more than to be your furry little man. The basics about about Elvis: " Having a dog savvy owner is essential for Elvis. He needs time meeting strangers. He is NOT vicious or aggressive, no growling or snarling but he needs time meeting new people coming into his home and to be properly introduced. It is more of a curious, unsure-what-to-do issue. He will not tolerate unescorted strangers in the house. " So heres what we do: Either remove Elvis from the scene by crating him or introduce him to guests. He adjusts quickly (a matter of minutes!) when guests toss him treats. Once he realizes the guest is a friend (i.e., treat dispenser) he warms up and they can pet him if they choose. " In his current foster home, Elvis lives with another friendly dog and they love to play. Once he is familiar with regular visitors, he welcomes them or dogs after getting to know them. When he is meet new dogs and gets a bit alpha one quick squirt with the water bottle and he stops immediately. Ideal forever home: No small children (12 years or older and / or with positive pet experience ok). Elvis was found wandering the streets and picked up by a local shelter before being saved by the Boston Brigade. We are guessing he was cooped up quite a bit prior to that resulting in his puppy-like motor-skills. He is like a young pup in an older dog body. He is eager to please and motivated by treats.
Issues: Elvis had very poor socialization as a pup and needs very slow introduction to new people, dogs and experiances.
Elvis's Story:
Wants to be with his family and enjoys another submissive friendly dog to play with after a slow (10 day) introduction
