Millie (in new england)'s Story...

Millie is a sweet, shy little Long-Haired Dachshund. She gets along great with other pets and with people. She is shy at first, but after a few days she'll be snuggling with you on the sofa. The vet estimates her age to be between 6 & 8 years old. She is healthy, but does have a mild, class 2 heart murmur which has not presented any problems for Millie. She is spayed and house broken. Millie will thrive in a home with people who are home most of the time, and there are other friendly pets. She does not like being left alone at home unless she has another animal to keep her company while her human companions are out. I would not suggest Millie for a home where she will be left in a crate and alone for long periods of time. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Millie (in new england), a Windham Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Windham, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Windham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windham paves the way for another one to be saved.
