Sonny's Story...
My name is Sonny, I’m a 28yr old Yellow Naped Amazon. I was raised by a man since I was a baby and he was my best friend! When I first came into rescue, I had a damaged air sac (but had had it for a really long time before I came to FPR). The rescue sent me to a really great doctor to have the air sac repaired, but it was not successful L But, the Doc says I am fine and that it is just a little imperfection that makes me the bird I am. I LOVE to talk! I say “hi honey”, “whatcha doing”, “I love youuuuuu” and I love the knock -on-the-door-sound and then yelling “COME IN”. If you’re talking I am too! I really love to sing even though I sound like Ethel Murman when I do, and I keep up a conversation with the best of them! I have this crazy affinity for BELLS - I like to ring them. I am very vocal, love to talk and I have the best belly laugh you’ve ever heard! I love to hang out with you outside of my cage as much as possible and I have to have my showers! I am not needy - unless of course you’re eating something – but I really REALLY prefer men and would do well in a home that has at least one man that will socialize with me A LOT!! I always wanna know whatcha doin? So if you can look over my slight imperfection, and would like a good companion, I think we could live happily ever after!

About Florida Parrot Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.
