Mama Mia's Story...
Mia would like to meet you! She's an affectionate girl who enjoys meeting new people and is getting fantastic reviews from her foster family. She's house trained, rarely barks, and adapts quickly to new situations. She's in a foster home with a busy young family and is fantastic with children. Her companions while in foster care are a senior beagle mix, a 2 year old terrier mix, a young male cat, and an eight week old kitten. She loves them all and became friends with all of them quickly. She sleeps through the night without a sound. We think Mia is very smart -- she catches on quickly and enjoys being challenged to learn new tricks and skills. And one of her strongest assets are her beautiful eyes. When she gives that long, soulful look and lifts her paw to be taken -- well, she's hard to resist. Mia is truly an excellent dog and someone will be VERY lucky to get her. She's fostered in Huntsville, AL. To receive more photos and talk with her foster mom, please email INFO@FORrescue.net. We'll send you an application. Thank you for reading about Mia!

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a certified 501(c)(3) organization consisting of volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter dogs that are in danger of euthanasia. Rural Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee shelters have a constant overflow of dogs, little funding, and limited space. Once the dogs arrive at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these adoptable dogs and adopt them out to loving families in the New England area. Although our priorities are the retriever breeds, we are not limiting ourselves to retrievers because we know that there are many great dogs that need our help. We are NOT professional trainers or animal behaviorists; simply volunteers who are trying to save these dogs from euthanasia.
Our Adoption Process...
Our dogs are mainly fostered in Tennessee and Alabama in one of our many experienced foster homes if one is available; if not, the dogs might be kept in boarding until adopted. We have many wonderful dogs looking for homes! All of our animals receive rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo vaccine, bordatella and spay/neuter (if age appropriate) and are on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. All of our dogs come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $450 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm/flea preventative, as well as their transportation to your area.

Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption. Our dogs are brought up to their new owners weekly! Our transport service is certified through the USDA. We have a 14 day no questions asked money back guarantee and the dog can be returned to us if things don't work out. We try hard to get good matches in our homes so that everyone has a happy life together!

We currently volunteer for other rescues and can provide references from these rescues, previous adopters, and our veterinarians if requested. Email us at info@FORrescue.net for more information and to fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mama Mia, a Allentown Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
