Who are you calling a runt? I may be much smaller than my brothers and sisters (and I had my foster mom a little nervous when I was born ’cause I was so little), but I nominate ME as the pack leader! I was the first to open my eyes, and I went from “swimming” (crawling) to running, bypassing that boring walking stuff altogether. I am very active, tense, strong, and wirey, but I am also very sweet. Even though it is WAY fun to be “The Boss”, I am thinking I might like to be an only dog…as long as you give me a job, ’cause I am a “doer” dog, by golly! Want me to let you know when somebody is coming to your house? I can do that! Want me to fetch a Frisbee? Let me at it! Have you heard about this stuff they call agility? I would be really, really good at that! Oh, by the way, I think my dad was a Doberman, ’cause I have a nice smooth coat. (I must have a fenced yard at my new home.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Syri, a Salem Border Collie/Doberman Pinscher puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Doberman Pinscher for sale in Salem, or seeking a Border Collie/Doberman Pinscher puppy from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Border Collie/Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
