My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Two year old, 12 lb Suri came to us from a small central CA shelter where she had been picked up as a stray. Suri is a “mostly” doxie. We readily agreed to take her as our past experience with these “mostly’s” is that they have been terrific dogs. In rescue, Suri has more than lived up to our expectations.

Suri is a charming, energetic girl. She loves playing with toys and is almost playing fetch. She works very hard to get the other doxies in her foster home to play with her and has successfully gotten them to play racetrack with her. She is happy to play this game inside as well as outside and out will run laps in the living room using the furniture for bumpers. We think she could do well with children age 5 and up as she is very gentle when playing with humans.

So far, Suri has shown no interest in the cat in her foster home.

The dash of something else in Suri gives her one very non-dachshund like trait. She willingly goes outside to go potty, even in the rain!

Suri is quietly sleeping in the kitchen with the other dogs in the family. She doesn’t do any whining or complaining about this.

All in all, she’s a very pleasant and darling dog to have around.
