Oreo's Story...
Oreo is a people and dog-friendly Labrador/Border Collie-mix that is looking for a loving forever home to call his own! He was saved by Lucky Dog from a kill shelter where he found himself homeless and was going to be euthanized. He is approximately 2 years old and is medium sized weighing about 50 pounds. Oreo is a very sweet boy loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He also knows his basic commands and will gently take treats from your fingers. He is a wonderful boy that would make a perfect addition to any home looking to add a loving dog to their family.

Oreo is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm treated and de-wormed. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Oreo, please contact Melia at His adoption donation of $200 benefits rescue the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. He is currently located near Chicago, IL and would love to have a forever family to call his own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Chicago Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
