Mango & Spock's Story...
Mango and Spock are 3 y/o brothers who were returned to us due to their owner's health problems. Thay are brothers and must be adopted together. Mango is fairly friendly whole Spock is a bit slower to trust. They are a lot of fun to play with. They love to play tag during playtime. Update March 2012, from their foster home: The most fun thing for me about fostering these two boys has been watching them cuddle up together when it is cold. If there is anything cuter than a sleeping chinchilla, it is two sleeping chinchillas cuddled up together! The twins are very much alike--both standard grays-and look so much alike that I can't always tell one from the other--especially if they are moving, which these guys usually are, They love leaping around their big cage, and enjoy their hall time even more. After each one separately explores all the corners and boxes in the hall, at some point they start playing a furious game of tag. Mango is more usually the "chased" and he has learned he can jump on my shoulder and get on the other side of my neck to "hide" from his brother. Then he jumps down and they are off again. Mango has also gotten sufficiently unafraid of "the giant hand" that invades their cage to clean it, that now he frequently tries to slip past it and get out of his cage into the hall for some unscheduled run time. Fortunately he is easy to catch on these solo excursions! Their adoption fee is $200 including their QC Mansion cage, 15" chinspin exercise wheel, QC double carrier, sleep tube, hammock, hidey houses, hay bins, toys and more. Otherwise, an approved cage and exercise wheel are required and a donation of $75 each is requested as an adoption fee. For more information, please see our website: **Pet Only! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mango & Spock, a Lubbock Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Lubbock, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Lubbock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lubbock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lubbock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lubbock paves the way for another one to be saved.
