Greyfriars's Story...
Grayfriars is a delightful little chinchilla who got off to kind of a rough start, since his first owners didn't know to feed him hay. Consequently, he started chewing his own fur, but seems to have stopped completely now. In just the couple of months he's been with me, he's learned to eat hay, learned the joys of his very own Chinspin, learned to leap from shelf to shelf in his new cage, and has learned to love his out of cage time. He is still a little tentative about being picked up in his cage, but is fearless and curious during out of cage time, and easy to catch. He will make someone a lovely lifetime (15-20 years) companion. An approved cage and exercise wheel are required and a donation of $75 is requested as an adoption fee. A sleep tube, hammock, hidey house, hay bin, dust bath, toys and more are included. For more information, please see our website: www.nolachinchillarescue.org **Pet Only! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Greyfriars, a Lubbock Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Lubbock, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Lubbock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lubbock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lubbock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lubbock paves the way for another one to be saved.
