I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Benji was surrendered along with his sister when his owner became ill and could no longer live on her own and care for her dogs.
Even though his sister has been adopted, Benji still is happy to play with all of the toys and run (slowly) outside with the other dogs.
In fact, he plays with the dog toys everyday. Benji does love the squeaky toys and makes them squeak on and off through the day.
He does well in the crate and Benji has that beagle appetite so he is fed in the crate too. Benji has done so well outside of the crate that he no longer has to be in the crate when people are not around.
However, he likes his beds so much, he usually will pull one out of the crate to lie on it while watching TV. He even has been known to pull a dog bed out of the bedroom and drag it down the hall to the family room. But if he finds a place on the couch next to a person who will pet him, he will stay there forever reveling in the experience.
At night he has a special bed on the floor next to his foster's bed. He sometimes rolls around on it making funny sounds of happiness before he drifts off to sleep.
Benji is happy to play with the other dogs at the house, but he moves at his own pace. Benji loves toys, people, dogs, children, going on car rides and being brushed. He has completed a basic obedience course at the Bow Wow Boutique and is current on his vaccinations and is microchipped.

Read about the beagle breed to be sure this dog matches your lifestyle and personality. While we think beagles are terrific dogs, we know that no one breed is perfect for every single family. Many people adopt or purchase beagles because they are small and friendly without ever finding out more about the breed. We encourage anyone who is considering adding a beagle to their family to learn all they can about these stubborn, playful hounds!
Submit an on-line application. Just fill out the application on-line and we will automatically be notified. If you need to, you can save your application and finish it later.
Choose to receive information from us. In your settings, you have the option to receive emails and regular mail from us. Click these options to receive updates about dogs available for adoption and upcoming events such as adoption days, special activities and fundraising events.
Approval of the application is based on phone interviews and a reference & Vet check. It usually takes us 7-10 days to approve an application, but when we are very busy, it can take a little longer. Thanks for your patience!
Visit with the beagles! After you are approved, you can visit with the dogs at adoption events, usually scheduled once or twice a month. Adoption events are open to the public, but only preapproved applicants will be able to adopt the same day. (We recommend submitting the application at least 10 days in advance to ensure it is approved in time.)
