Lily Love:)'s Story...
This beautiful youngster is Lily. In her short time on
this earth, Lily has known fear, abandonment and
neglect. A fellow rescuer noticed Lily and her
soft, gentle ways in a high volume shelter where she had
no hope of getting out.

Lily was so frightened all alone in her small cage that
she shook uncontrollably. Her small frame, shivering
with fear, gave voice to her turmoil. Although terrifed
by the noise, the isolation and the unknown, Lily’s
sweet spirit reached out to this rescuer. She was just one
among several hundred beautiful little friends desperate to
be saved.

Fortunately for Lily, her rescuer got her out of harm’s
way in the nick of time and brought her to Save-a-Pet
for safe keeping until her forever person comes along.
Those who have come to know this tender, fragile
little girl cannot believe she still is waiting for love!
Love, that’s all Lily wants; she thrives on it. Miss Lily
is not quite a year old. She is a delicious blend (we
think) of Shepherd/Husky and, perhaps a bit of Basenji.
Lily is well mannered, walks like a little lady on a
leash (in fact, she adores her walk time with her new-found
friends). She LOVES to be loved, and gives back affection

Do you think you can welcome this angel into your
heart? We believe she will fill your life with utter

If you think you can give Lily all of the love, attention
and security she so deserves and has never had before,
her friend, Susan, would lke to speak with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily Love:), a Smithtown German Shepherd Dog/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Basenji for sale in Smithtown, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Basenji dog from a breeder in Smithtown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithtown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithtown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Basenji breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithtown paves the way for another one to be saved.
