Toby's Story...
Hey! My name is Toby and I consider myself very lucky. You see I was running loose in the streets living the life of a street dog until one day I found myself at a vet. I overheard that I was going to take a trip to the dog pound...THE DOG POUND!!!...OH NO, I knew what that meant! Just in the nick of time my future foster Dad saw me and told them he worked with a rescue organization and that he could take me home. Oh man I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of relief, love and gratitude I had toward this complete stranger! So, I promised myself I would show it to him instead.

I live with my foster parents and three siblings who I adore and get along with great! But I don't require a playmate, as long as I get plenty of love and attention from my future family I will be okay. Which brings me to my next topic, I have a very playful side! And LOVE LOVE LOVE tennis balls and squeaky toys!!! But don't worry I am very gentle and good around kids. I don't like to brag too much (ha yeah right!) I am trained in the following: potty, crate, sit and lay down. And when I get tired from playing I like to sit on the couch and snuggle with my foster parents while they watch their favorite TV shows and rub my belly. And boy do I love treats! My foster parents even have a nickname for me - tubby, haha!

So what am I looking for in my forever home? Someone who will bring me to the dog park(s), take me on long walks, and to the lake on weekends and holidays! Oh man I love the lake, I am a very good swimmer! I will fetch the tennis ball and bring it back to you, we can show off to everyone :) Basically I am looking for a life-long companion to love and show them that adopting is the best decision that they ever made! If I sound like the perfect dog for you then please go to http://www.animalalliesoftexas.org/adoption-application/ and fill out an application for TOBY today!

About Our Rescue Group...
Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."
Come Meet Our Pets...
We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters must submit an application, either online via our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org or a paper application at an adoption event. General requirements for adoption: You must live in the DFW/Ft. Worth/North Texas area - we do not adopt outside this area. Dogs must be primarily inside, and cats must be totally inside. Cats must not be declawed. All pets must be spayed/neutered if this has not been done prior to adoption. Adopter must agree to a home visit prior to adoption. Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: dogs-$175, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Animal Allies of Texas serves all cities and towns within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex (North Texas area). We restrict adoptions to these areas so that we can do home visits to ensure the best placement for all our animals.
