Boo Boo Kitty's Story...
Tired of your average every day cat? Want some pizazz in your cat? Not afraid of a bit of attitude? Then Boo Boo Kitty is your guy! Boo Boo is a 3 year old neutered male with a feisty personality! He is an affectionate, goofy kitty that was a shelter favorite. He was there for far longer than many other cats, and would have already been euthanized except that everyone loved him. He is beautiful with very unique markings and chunky cheeks. He weighs in at at least 12 pounds.

He loves his scratching post and lounging around in the middle of the room. He also loooves the faucet in the sink or bathtub and will meow at you and follow you until you turn it on for him- he drinks from it and plays in it daily. It is very cute to watch, and he often walks around the house with his face all wet and his fur in disarray! He gets along well with other cats as long as they don't mind playing chase with him. He isn't a big fan of dogs, though if they leave him alone he will tolerate them. If they get too close though he'll give a quick swat. He would do fine with a calm dog that is cat savvy. He loooves people food and will appear behind you the second you step foot in the kitchen. He will gladly finish off any meal left attended. His favorite is deli meat and cheese- he will literally grab it out of your hand if you aren't paying attention (he has even done this with crackers before!). He will stand on his hind legs and swat it from your fingers if you hold it out for him. We try not to encourage it but I have to admit it is pretty amusing. He will lay with you and snuggle at times, but only when he feels like it. Usually he prefers laying in the middle of the floor of whatever you are in where he can see everything that is going on. He also loves to look out the windows.

Boo Boo needs an EXPERIENCED adopter that knows cats well. He gets overstimulated easily, and will bite if you pet him too much or bug him, so he should not go to a home with children. He lets you know when he is getting irritated by meowing and swishing his tail back and forth, so thats when you know he has had enough petting! He was a street cat and is definitely an alpha male. He is used to living outdoors so he is still learning proper indoor manners. We have been training him with a squirt bottle (we call it the "naughty bottle") to correct bad behaviors and he has been learning very well how to integrate into a home. He is learning tolerance, and not to bite or swat when he is annoyed. He has also learned that the humans are the alpha leaders, not him- when he first came to us he was strutting around like he owned the place, but he has since learned how to fit in with the rest of the pack. He may be a little tough but he has so many redeeming qualities, you can't help but love him! His attitude just adds to his big personality. Boo Boo is one of a kind, so if you want more then your average docile kitty, add some spice to your life and bring Boo Boo Kitty home! He would make a good companion in a gentle, experienced adult home, that can put up with a little bit of attitude ;) With Boo Boo, less is more, and he will let you know if you are getting on his last nerve- That is what makes this guy such a character! He will be your good buddy if you establish respect- Boo Boo is not one to be made look like a fool! He will stand his own ground. Boo Boo Kitty may not be for the faint of heart, but somehow his infectious personality wins over a lot of people!

His adoption fee is $100 and includes neuter, deworming, and vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boo Boo Kitty, a San Diego Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
