DARBY = 8 mo. old Herding Dog's Story...
DARBY - ID# A008210 Sorry you missed her! Shelter management has cut off applications, as so many people wanted her. We are continually getting this breed in and we encourage you to sign up to be notified for the specific breed, age, etc., you are looking for in the “Search Saver” on www.1-800-Save-A-Pet.com. Please keep a watch on our website for more good dogs!

DARBY is a spayed female, Silvery Brown and Tan German Shepherd and Australian Shepherd mix. The shelter thinks Darby was about 8 months old when she arrived on July 8, 2007. She is very sweet and playful, but will herd everything as she is a dominant herding dog and will nip at the heals of what she is hearding! She would do best in a home either as the only pooch, or with another active dog that can keep up with her. She would also do well without cats or children under 6 as she is a pretty active, young girl. Her coat is lovely and silky. Darby will be receiving basic commands training while she is with us, but would really thrive if her new owners will keep up her training. Read below for the training assistance we offer with all shelter dogs.

Starting the adoption process you need to be 18 years or older, complete an application http://www.petprojectfoundation.org/dogadoption.pdf, be interviewed and it is strongly recommend all members of your household and any dogs you have at home must be brought in to socialize with the dog you wish to adopt in our play yard, to make the best match for everyone, and be able to verify with your landlord that you may have a pet if you are renting. Why Adoption is a Great Option

DARBY = 8 mo. old Herding Dog, a San Clemente German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd for sale in San Clemente, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in San Clemente.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Clemente already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Clemente breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Clemente paves the way for another one to be saved.
