Huggy's Story...
Happy, embraceable and uniquely beautiful, meet Miss Huggy. She is quick to jump in your lap and stay awhile for some purring and petting. Then when its time to rev up for some monkey business you can send her off on a wild chase of a dangling string or after a tossed mouse. Then she is back for some more lovins and returns your affection with gentle head butts. She is no sloppy kisser—thats the dogs job. She much prefers to be your main squeeze. Come and get your wuv from our Huggy-wuggy! Huggie was born in 2009.

If you are interested in learning more about Huggie, or know someone who might be interested, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com.

We are always in need of foster homes. If you are not able to adopt, but are interested in fostering or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you! Please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com or Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com to learn more.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huggy, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
