BonBon's Story...
Sweet girl needs a new home due to Owner's allergies

BonBon is a Courtesy Post. Please contact their owner directly at info. listed below.

BonBon is a 10-year-old female Maine coon, probably a mix. We adopted her from Austin Petfinders as a kitten. She is a sweet, well-behaved cat in very good health. Vet records available. , She has big eyes and tends to walk on the front of her paws, like she's in high heels. She 'rules the roost' here. Although she is the smaller of our two cats, she is in charge and calls our other cat to 'quit sleeping' when it's dinner time, or it's 2 PM and time to come lie in the sun. She's also the one who wakes us up in the morning and lets us know it's breakfast time. Except at feeding time, she's pretty quiet, though. She's not a 'talker.' She loves playing with Da Bird, is litter-box-trained, and likes to snuggle with other cats. The foster home she was adopted from had lots of cats, so she was socialized early to be with others. She likes to be brushed, occasionally, on her terms, and will tolerate having her claws clipped as long as there's a treat when she's done, especially freeze-dried chicken treats. She will squeal - loudly - at being trimmed before the clippers go near her paws, but otherwise behaves calmly both before and after trimming. She likes to sleep near the Feliway pheromone diffusers or on dirty sox (go figure!). She's very good about using a sisal rope covered post or board for scratching, or that box with corrugated cardboard filler, especially if it's sprinkled with catnip occasionally. If there's a screened porch, she will go out sometimes, but she prefers staying in where there's heat or cooling. She doesn't like to be picked up (keep my feet on the ground, please), but will sit next to me on the sofa any time for petting.

We hate to give her up, but my allergies and breathing problems have made it critical to do so.

Our Adoption Process...
The adoption process is simple :) Please fill out an application and one of our volunteer case managers help you choose a cat, or if you have one in mind, they will place you in touch with the foster parent where you can ask any and all questions.

We do ask for two references. We try not to be intrusive, but please understand that we make a committment to find each of them the right home. We will work with you as long as needed to find the right fit for your family and we guarantee our placements.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We currently serve Texas and surrounding states-but are expanding into other regions of the US :)
