Caitlyn's Story...
If you love bag pipe music and think that plaid is the new black take a closer look at Caitlyn. She looks like a Scottish Deerhound in miniature, plus she has a vivid Celtic red coat. This beautiful terrier mix weighs about 25#. She is the perfect size for a small home or apartment and has inherited her mother Shirley's spunky personality. Caitlyn has matured a lot since these photos were taken in January. I will take new ones as soon as I can. Her most striking feature is her beautiful profile which is reminiscent of a Scottish deer hound. She is leggy for a medium sized dog, giving the impression that she is taller than she really is. Her golden coat is smooth underneath and slightly darker red than her wirey topside. The two shades of red and two types of coat add to her stylish presentation. This is a dog that will always draw attention and she has a personality that can handle it. She is friendly without being needy, and even though she has not had much individual attention at the kennel she bonds easily with any volunteer who pays attention to her. She is a winner and should be snapped up quickly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Caitlyn, a Thomaston Scottish Deerhound/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Scottish Deerhound/Dachshund for sale in Thomaston, or seeking a Scottish Deerhound/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Thomaston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Thomaston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Thomaston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Scottish Deerhound/Dachshund breeders who help with Scottish Deerhound/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Thomaston paves the way for another one to be saved.
