7 yr Terrier X Brindle female
Rush is about 30 pounds. She is very sweet, but rather independant. She is built like a terrier...very stocky, but her legs are a bit short so we are guessing that there could be some Doxie in her family tree, or maybe some cattle dog.
She can be protective & will bark at strangers. She warms up to people fairly quickly and really loves to be cuddled.
Rush was adopted from us in 2007 & just returned. They moved into a smaller house with a small yard, and Rush had trouble adjusting to the close proximity of the neighbors.. she though they were intruding & refused to stop barking at them.
She most likely would prefer a more isolated yard.. maybe block or wood fences, but then again, with a new family she might learn the new rules & not bark at the neighbors.
She has definately mellowed out & now at 7 years is not as active and excitable. she has been living with children for the past 5 years & is very good with them & all their friends.

This great dog is all ready for a new home! The adoption donation of $200.00 pays for this dog's medical care & also contributes to the medical care needed by other dog's that come into our rescue. (some dogs need hundreds of dollars worth of care to make them adoptable) Why purchase a dog for hundreds of dollars (that still needs vaccinations & neutering & microchip) when you can get this darling dog that already has everything and help other dogs at the same time??? The Short N Sweet Ranch, altho primarily a horse ranch, has opened its acres to homeless dogs that are looking for that perfect forever home.
We are a member of the Rescue Alliance of Hairless & Other Breeds Which is a group of dedicated rescuers that foster animals from shelters and occasionally for people who need to place their animal into rescue.
Our potential homes are screened & you must be willing to answer questions about your home & life so we can make a perfect match.
All homes must be willing to come out to meet their new dog...I won't ship & hope it works out.
I also require that all adopters have spayed or neutered ALL their current dogs and cats.

We will require that you fill out an adoption applications & list references. An adopton contract will also be required at the time a match is made.
Adoption fees to vary slightly, but will be around $200.00 as this is usually the minimum that we have had to invest in each dog to ensure his/her health & to spay, neuter, and vaccinate.
emailing us is the fastest way to get a response. If you are serious about adopting a particular dog, tell us something about yourself in your first email, it will greatly speed up the process!
