Chief von Hope's Story...
Chief is a very silly 3.5 month old shepherd puppy. There is a lot of personality packed into his little body! Chief's favorite activities include antagonizing his foster siblings (who are all much bigger than him), exploring the backyard for lizards, going for long car rides, snuggling on the couch, making his foster family laugh, stealing flip flops and chewing on bones. He is already well mannered, crate trained, sleeps through the night, knows the sit command, and is so close to being potty trained. He is teething and likes to gnaw on your fingers, so he probably shouldn't be in a home with small children.
Chief has a rare condition that German Shepherd puppies can get called salivary glands spasm. It is controlled by medication; according to the medical literature it is common for puppies to outgrow this condition. Chief is finally getting enough to eat and filling out. His body still thinks he is deprived and he can be food protective. We think he will soon learn that there is going to be as much food as he needs and he will get over the food issues also. He is on special canned food and a regiment of medications and small meals throughout the day. He needs an owner who is home most of the time. (someone who works at home or is a stay at home mom of older kids for example)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chief von Hope, a Los Angeles German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
