My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Notes: LUCKY & FAITH ARE SIBLINGS! They were born on 3/3/07 at the vet clinic the day that their mother was taken out of the kill shelter so they are 9 weeks old at this writing. Their mother Pearl was a purebred beagle and is already in her forever home!

Lucky is a male and Faith is a female
Lucky and Faith are typical puppies who want to play alot and want to sleep and snuggle a lot. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE ADOPTED TOGETHER! They are crate trained.

They each weigh appx. 6 pounds right now and will probably be about 30 when full grown.

This dog is located at an animal hospital in Memphis, TN because this poor little baby was at an extremely high kill/ high disease shelter in Brighton, TN (close to Memphis). I work up here on the East Coast with a group of women who try to reduce the rate of euthanization at this kill shelter. Prior to rescue help, Tipton put down 80% of the dogs that walked through their doors after just five days. We have had great success placing these precious babies all over the country. Over 200 dogs have been placed in our area and up to New England over the last 6 months and the response has been overwhelming. Many families would happily talk to you about their experience working with us and adopting an "urgent shelter dog."
For many people, adopting a dog sight unseen is a very stressful experience. We can completely appreciate this and do everything in our power to bring these dogs up to foster homes up North. However, this is often not a possibility as we have a number of dogs and so few families willing to foster. We have put an excellent system in place and have wonderful and insightful volunteers in Memphis that are outstanding in determining the personality of each dog and letting us know what kind of family would be the right fit.
